THE AGILIA RETRANSFER FILM by EVOLIS
Retransfer printing is a two-part process, of which this film makes the second essential part. Once your YMCK or YMCKK ribbon lays down the image, the Agilia retransfer film takes over – the printed image is fused onto the film first, then transferred onto the card itself under heat. This is what allows Evolis Agilia to print genuinely edge-to-edge, even across chips, uneven surfaces, or textured card stock that would defeat a standard direct-to-card printer. The process is designed to produce the best quality cards again and again as the printing film and ribbon remain constant in the equation – the card quality is neutralised – the print is perfect every time.
It is important to remember the ratio of film to ribbon. The film prints 1200 images while the colour ribbon (YMCKO) prints 600 images – hence a 2:1 ribbon to film ratio to be ordered so you will not run out of printing ribbon. This helps with budgeting and planning purposes.

- True edge-to-edge coverage – the film wraps the entire card surface, so there’s no white border regardless of what’s underneath it.
- High autonomy: 1,200 prints per roll – roughly double the yield of a standard colour ribbon, meaning fewer changeovers and lower cost per card for high-volume printing.
- Smart-chip enabled for automatic recognition by the printer, just like Agilia’s colour ribbons.
- Acts as the overcoat – protecting the printed image the way an “O” panel would on a standard ribbon, without needing a separate varnish step.
- Adapts to virtually any card material or thickness Agilia supports: PVC, composite PVC, PET, ABS, and polycarbonate, from 30 to 50 mil.
ADVANTAGES
Because the film – not the ribbon – carries the finish, Agilia produces a consistently attractive result on cards that would otherwise print unevenly: embedded chips, rough laminates, or non-standard surfaces all come out clean and edge-to-edge. The high 1,200-print yield also means less frequent consumable changes for busy print runs.
Tested and validated by Evolis R&D and Quality departments alongside the Agilia printer itself, so ribbon and film are guaranteed to work together as a matched system.

STORAGE INFORMATION
As with all Evolis High Trust® consumables, store film unopened in a cool, dry environment (5–25°C, 50–70% relative humidity) for up to 1 year. Once opened, use within 3 months under the same conditions. Avoid dust, direct sunlight, high humidity, high temperatures, and contact with solvents or chemicals.
